Data one implements discovery maxscan on a Xerox impika printer
MARSEILLE, FRANCE 23rd May 2016: Lake Image Systems (France), a leader in variable data integrity and print quality inspection is pleased to announce today that Data One, a part of the Diffusion Plus Group in France, has successfully completed the installation of its revolutionary new Discovery Maxscan technology on their Xerox Impika eVolution printer. This enables Data One to maintain a technological advantage over competitors by offering its clients the best in-line, document integrity and print quality inspection solution for their commercial and transactional print services.
Unlike standard camera technology, the revolutionary new Discovery Maxscan uses a unique contact sensor, lens and LED illumination arrangement to produce consistent, undistorted full colour image definition running at true 600dpi. These advances enable this compact unit to operate at a working distance of just 12mm (1/2”) and reduces the required headroom to less than 130mm (5”), even with webs in excess of 900mm wide. This enables easy integration within the existing transport system of the Xerox IMPIKA eVolution printer running at 220 meters/min, without the need for costly additional rollers, re-designed web paths or complex optical assemblies, typical with standard camera inspection technologies.
As Laurent Quéré, Color and Solutions Manager at Data One remarks, “The Discovery Maxscan from Lake Image is a prime example of a revolutionary new product that perfectly supports our current ADF document tracking, integrity and print inspection monitoring requirements, while providing the flexibility and functionality to encompass our future needs. Our clients entrust us to ensure full document integrity and quality for all their variable data applications and with Lake Image Systems we are confident that we have selected a technology partner with the capability, expertise and credibility to ensure we satisfy this key requirement and maintain our competitive advantage.”
“We are extremely pleased that Data One has invested in the Discovery Maxscan solution for their new IMPIKA printer. They have recognised that this new advanced vision technology will help them to deliver superior integrity and quality for their full colour digital print, positioning them above the crowd as the leading provider of document services in Europe”, commented Alain Almeras, General Manager, Lake Image Systems France. “The Maxscan is an exciting new addition to the Discovery Multiscan family. Our Multiscan Manager pulls together the images and data from a wide variety of cameras, including the new Maxscan contact scanners, and enables the implementation of any number of Discovery software tools to read, control, inspect, verify, log, track and report – providing 100% quality inspection and print data integrity. Our sophisticated image processing software and our new 64bit OS platform, enables MultiScan to read and quickly process the extremely large (1GB+) images that are typically created by Maxscan. It is our 20 years of expertise in the imaging industry that has enabled Lake Image Systems to be one of the first vendors to offer the Maxscan solution.”
Lake Image Systems will be demonstrating Discovery Maxscan and its latest portfolio of powerful inspection solutions at the drupa 2016 trade fair (Düsseldorf, May 31 to June 10, 2016) on stand #11B42.
